Covered Bridge Tour - May 7,2005

On May 7,2005 the Friday work crew led by John Tauke went on a covered bridge tour in eastern Pennsylvania. This tour was in preparation for the construction of a covered bridge in Millbrook village. The September 2004 hurricane Ivan took away the bridge next to the woodworkers shop leading over to the sawmill area. NPS has given us a green light to build a town lattice covered bridge as a replacement. We visited seven bridges on a beautiful sunny day which was forecast to be windy with lots of rain. The weatherman did the right thing - he was wrong. A beautiful day indeed where everybody had a good time. Now back to gathering the necessary timbers.
